In lieu of this coverage, the physics department has available web-based study modules to prepare students for diagnostic exams covering any of the modules. Adequate performance on the diagnostic(s) will activate transfer credit of PHY 241 + 242 for PHYS 2305 + 2306.

1 For majors requiring Math 1525, students must complete both Math 163 and 270 (271) to receive credit for MATH 1015 and 1525. If only Math 163 is completed, students will receive credit only for MATH 1015
2 For majors requiring math 1526 Student’s wishing to complete the sequence of math 1525-1526 should complete the series of math 163, 270 (271) and 272. These students will earned 9 credits of math encompassing math 1015, 1525 & 1526.

3 Because 173 and 273 contain material not covered in 1205, students who took 1205 at Virginia Tech may not be prepared for either 174 or 274 (ask the particular community college for a detailed syllabus compare it with your 1205 assignment sheet).
